After my five month 'real ale' dissertation, I headed down to one of my favourite beer destinations, Germany!! Although they have a famous beer called 'Berliner Weisse' (Beer with syrup), I prefer to try normal 'Weisse beer'. Pubs in Munich seemed much better and more lovely atmosphere at my first sight.
I met my friend, Jana and her fiancee on my last day in Berlin and found there were lots of 'hidden' nice beer gardens in Berlin!!! I thought Berlin had less nice pubs than Munich, it was not true. Why 'hidden'? Although these pubs are near touristic places, it is a little bit difficult to find from tourists' perspectives!! They are behind parks or along the river and tourist can't find them easily.
Thanks to them, I had a good time at a couple of beer gardens with beers. Germany also has the problem as people have a wide range of choices on drinks, and traditional 'wisse beer' are less popular..young people prefer to drink lagers, cocktails and wines; That is the usual problem-more choices, less traditional??
