Incredible and good quality of beer festival in my town, Bournemouth!! Bournemouth beer festival was taken place on the Easter weekend. Compared to other festivals, as the Easter weekend, I found lots of ladies and family in the venue. This venue will be for my future graduation ceremony-BIC(Bournemouth International Conference).
This festival became my official research for my dissertation. As I am a good student, I followed my fantastic supervisor's advice to attend at this festival for my observation!! But obviously it was a nice excuse to sample lots of nice ales.
They had over 300 real ales and ciders, and 50 % of attendess were female-drinkers. I had great oppotunities to have small chats with many people, and some of comments gave me nice ideas and clues for my research.
I saw some people who seriously checked the beer programme and types of beers on their mobiles and tablets in the venue, which reminded me the words from one gentleman. He suggested me to speak to these people as they must be landlords of pubs, licensees or people who engage in beer-related business.
I met beer tourists from Surrey, and they were the members of CAMRA. They are visiting lots of beer festivals across the UK, and have nearly 20 years experience in beer festivals. I was glad to find twenty something female group in the venue, and they were big fans of cider. Different from usual young drinkers, they hated sweet ciders-like Magners. Although their motivation was reunion with friends, they seemed satisfied with ciders.
After my observation and drinking 6 pints of ales, I headed down to my journey in Lisbon!! It was a good excuse before leaving from beer country to wine destination.
